As parents we need to keep in mind how difficult a task is that we are asking our child to do based on their current ability. Make sure your expectations are attainable at first; you want to be sure that the child gains access to the reinforcer on a daily basis in the beginning to establish or strengthen the frequency and accuracy of the behavior.
